JOHN LOWE MEMORIAL AWARD

 Enclosed with the Alert is a nomination form for the John Lowe Memorial Award.  This award is to recognize the achievements, behavioral and/or academic, of any IEP student within the 16 SASED School Districts.  Nominations must be received by March 24, 2010.  Please send nominations to SASED c/o John Lowe Memorial Award.  Any questions can be directed to Michelle Curran or Barb Shea at 786-3250.  The award will be presented to the student in his or her home school district at the end of the school year.

 

 

 

 

                                                

SASETT Cohort #5

SASED is currently accepting applications for our 5^th SASETT Cohort .  The cohort is run cooperatively with Eastern Illinois University  and will begin in January 2011.  Participants completing the program will hold LBS-1 (Learning Behavior Specialist ) teacher certification in special education.  Classes in this off-campus teacher training program are held in the evenings and during summers at SASED. Program length is 2 ½ -3 years.  Minimum requirement is an Associates degree. 

Interested applicants may download the application or call Nancy Rapps at 786-3250, ext. 109.  Applications are due March 15^th but deadline may be extended. 

CONGRATULATIONS!

Jean Wienhoff, SASED Social Worker at Williamsville and Hope School, and member of the Autism Diagnostic Team, has been awarded the John Lowe Education Grant  for February 2010 in order to complete her project titled “Social Stories on the Move”.     Congratulations, Jeanie!
